What is your refund policy?
No refunds are given for no-shows or cancellations. Upon payment, all tickets are non-refundable and can only be rescheduled with two week advanced notice.
When can I book for a tour and what forms of payment do you accept?
Tickets must be purchased in advance of our tours. Tickets can only be purchased online at www.eatsmartfoodtours.com . Cash and/or walk-up traffic the day of the tours are not accepted so that restaurants have enough time to prepare to maximize the experience of tour members.
Do I need to buy a ticket if I’m not eating?
Yes. All guests must but a ticket even if they don’t plan to partake in the food tastings. Non-paying food tour guests will not be able to join the tour for any reason. The ticket fees help cover the costs of all the food samplings and also to pay for your tour guide’s wages.
What do I receive included in my ticket purchase price?
You will receive a 3 hour guided tour of Boston’s metropolitan communities, tastings at 3-4 restaurants, gratuity for the servers and chefs who will take care of us, a very full stomach, and hopefully some priceless memories.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, gift certificates are available for all tours offered. You can purchase them by clicking on the “gift certificates” icon.
Where does the EatSmartFood Tour start?
Tours start in Cambridge. Exact location will be sent to you on your ticket confirmation.

On the tour, there will be a significant amount of food. Over the course of the tour, we will walk around no more than 1 mile, all on sidewalks and paved areas. Our tour is not suited for those who cannot be on their feet for 1+ hours or those with physical limitations that make walking long distances difficult. For all tours, please wear comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes (casual dress is just fine). We suggest bringing a jacket for cooler weather, and an umbrella if the weather looks questionable

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
Please tell us well in advance of any allergies. If you have extreme food allergies or strict dietary constraints, please provide your restrictions and/or allergies in the checkout process before purchasing tickets. If you give us advance notice we’ll do our best to accommodate requests, but please note that we cannot completely guarantee our ability to make substitutions in some situations and substitutions may alter the tour tasting experience. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee another dish or option is available. By purchasing tickets you are also agreeing to the waiver here: Participant Waiver
What do I need to bring?
Water is not served with all of the tastings, so we suggest bringing a bottle of water with you to enjoy throughout the tour. In addition, do bring a hearty appetite, and your camera. All of the tastings are included in the cost of the tour, but there will be opportunities to purchase goodies to fill your suitcase or your pantry should you feel inspired.
Are any beverages served on the tour?
Water will be made available at most restaurants and we will start you off with a bottle of water as well. You may purchase other beverages from the local establishments, but we ask you pace yourself if you purchase any alcoholic beverages as they can add up quickly and we will be doing quite a bit of walking. To note: We are on a time limit at each establishment and open containers are not allowed in the communities, so you will have to finish your beverage before we depart for our next stop.

Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at most food-tasting locations.
Are cameras allowed on the tour?
Yes. Cameras and filming are allowed during the tour. We strongly encourage participants to take photos during the tour. Our hashtag is #EatSmartFoodTour and we can be found on social media. What if I don’t want to be in your social media?
Please make sure to ask us before the tour begins and we will accommodate your request.
Do we only walk around and sample food?
No. You will hear history and facts about the people, places and things that make Greater Boston a great place to visit or live. In addition, you may get the opportunity to meet the chef or business owner to hear about the history of the restaurant or business and how they create the food you are sampling. And there’s always the chance that you’ll make new friends!
